PLAYSTATION 5 GAMERS REJOICE: DISCORD INTEGRATION IS ON THE HORIZON!

READY FOR ENHANCED COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION?

Owners of PS5 consoles have been anticipating Discord for a while. Furthermore, despite earlier rumors that it would be included in an update, none ever materialized. Now, it appears as though the PlayStation 5 speculated update is just around the way!

Discord will soon be available on the PlayStation 5, claims Tom Henderson, a dependable PS5 leaker. This integration will be available in the console with the upcoming version 7.0 upgrade. The update will launch in March 2023.

PS5 X DISCORD: ENHANCED COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION

The beneficial integration has been requested by PlayStation 5 users since since Discord became available for Xbox users. Discord integration with PS5 was also recently rumored. Leaked screenshots supporting that rumor demonstrated that the feature was indeed in testing. There was no formal timeline, though.

However, it remains unclear exactly how the PlayStation 5 Discord version will look. It's possible that it will only begin by enabling voice conversation through the mobile app for players. Additionally, the call might be forwarded to Discord's console integration once the layers have connected to one another.

That was the Xbox consoles' initial implementation, at least. Discord might be native on PS5 from the start, but it is now native on Xbox. The months of beta releases on Xbox have already taught the Discord team a lot about console integration. And the PlayStation 5 integration may use all of that information.

Additionally, the PS5's version 7.0 upgrade will provide users the option of cloud-based game streaming. This was something that was already possible in PS4 and PS3 games. However, with update 7.0, PlayStation Plus Premium will now include the Sony PS5 cloud streaming feature, which has "been in development for months."
